How Raymond Mill Works

Raymond Mill is a common grinding equipment used in various industries, including mining, construction, chemical engineering, and metallurgy. But how does this machine actually work?

The bulk materials are crushed into smaller particles by jaw crusher or hammer crusher. Then they are sent to the storage hopper by elevator. The vibrating feeder will evenly send these materials into the main grinding chamber of Raymond Mill.

How Raymond Mill Works

Inside the grinding chamber, a high-pressure spring with a pressure of 1000-1500 kg is tightly pressed on the roller assembly. When the motor starts running, it drives the main shaft and rollers to rotate at a high speed. As a result, centrifugal force pushes all the materials towards the periphery of the grinding ring.

Under this centrifugal force, fine powders pass through gaps between rollers and rings and get blown up by air blower above them. These powders then enter into an analyzer for separation based on particle size.

The coarse particles fall back onto the grinding ring for re-grinding while qualified fine powders are collected as finished products by cyclone collector and discharged from Raymond Mill through discharge valve.

Raymond Mill works through multiple processes such as crushing raw materials, transporting them to hopper via elevator, vibrating feeding them into main grinding chamber, tightly pressing them under high pressure, sending fine powders upwards for separation, and collecting finished products after classification process
